lyrics

I ran to the sunset
I drove back to the sunrise
With you on my mind
How easily the sun can make you blind
Ooohh ooh ooh ooh! Yeah

Thought I found that golden light
Turns out foolsgold is not as bright
But how do you know what is real
When you’ve only seen what you feel
I rub my eyes and what do I see?
That golden light inside of me!
So I sit and smile, I smile and sit,
and I laugh at all this bullshit.

And I ran to the sunset
I drove back to the sunrise
With you on my mind
How easily the sun can make you blind
Ooohh ooh ooh ooh! Yeah

My rosey eyes saw a hero,
with arms that pillowed my plummeting fall
The same arms that threw me over the edge
and tossed me around like a basketball
Did you know there’s no soap in a soap opera?
You made that clear when you tossed your shit at me
I laughed for a while,
but then realized I miss the smell of clean

And I ran to the sunset
I drove back to the sunrise
With you on my mind
How easily the sun can make you blind
Ooohh ooh ooh ooh! Yeah

And the sun is made of gold
We’ll keep reaching and reaching ‘til we burn our hands and our souls
But what really is the goal?
You’re just gonna dig yourself a hole
Trying to escape from these cold lonely nights
With no one by your side
but your loud unsteady mind
Who really is to blame?
Who really is to blame

How easily the sun can make you blind
